This flirty skirt is simple and beautifully flattering to all body types. The tall smocked waist band elongates the torso and hides imperfections around the waistline. The stretchy waistband grows with you, so it makes the perfect skirt for pregnancy and other needs. Match this pattern with any sort of cotton material for a fun and light skirt for the hot summer months. And with this pattern, it’s easy to dress it up with a more formal top and a nice pair of shoes or really go casual with a simple T-shirt and a pair of flip flops. Ahhhh, the versatility.
This pattern includes directions for women’s sizes: XS-XXL (sizes 2-20). The finished skirt is 24 inches long but is simple to lengthen or shorten. There are no pattern pieces needed but very specific instructions are given for exact measurements. (There are over 30 pictures to help you with each step.)
You’ll Need:
- 1 ½ yards of cotton material (45” wide)
- 1 package of elastic sewing thread (approx. 30 yards)
- 1 ½ yards of narrow elastic (1/8” wide)
- Coordinating thread
